This is an excellent upscale, albeit expensive Chineese and Japanese cuisine Resturant. Several people I have spoken too have expressed only positive comments on the sushi and the sashimi. I personally do not care for either so will take their world for the quality. I am curious about their Teriyaki chicken and beef so will probably try either of those.

Update 17 Mar 2010
A large group of friends and I enjoyed a very excellent lunchtime meal during Spring Break. Prices were slightly higher than comparable Restaurants but not unreasonable. The food and service was very good, especially with such a large group during a very busy lunch hour. Excellent for a family dinner or group lunch. Might try calling to see if they provide reservations during dinner times.

UPDATE: 15 Apr 2010 :
I have eaten here three times since my first posting and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit. I am partial to the all you can eat soup and sandwich special they run M-F for lunch. The all you can eat pizza buffet, again M-F for lunch, is well worth a trip as well. Have not tried any of their 100+ beers but they are on my bucket list 🙂 Follow the link below for their current menu and pricing.

Updated 20 Dec 09 I have stopped by couple of times now and have really enjoyed this change from other fast food places. I have tried their biscuit and gravy and while it was good, did not care for the “honey butter” taste of the biscuit with the sausage gravy. Not a good combination. However, I do enjoy that taste when combined with an egg, cheese and bacon on a biscuit. Hmmmm, good and not as “cardboardish” as some other places. I must stop by and try their chicken one of these days … since that is their “specialty.”
Updated 17 Nov 09 Stop by and enjoy … if you can get in … parking lot and drive through have been full each time I have driven by! Hope to try them out soon!

We took a second, and perhaps last, visit to Goodness Gracious. The first time we went, the service was sloooooooow and the food was so-so. It was the kind of food that wasn’t as good as home cooking and you were only glad to be eating out because you wouldn’t have to wash the dishes.
This visit gave new meaning to slow service. We went for saturday brunch. They kept refilling sweet tea in my un-sweet glass, the food was greasy and microwaved to within an inch of it’s life.
Oh, how I wish this themed german/polish restaurant lived up to it’s potential. Unfortunately, it doesn’t.

Are ya hungry for a hot dog with all your favorite toppings? When was the last time you had a footlong loaded with onions, chile and cheese? How about a Bratwurst? An Italian Sausage or maybe a Polish Sausage? Hey they even have a Veggie Dog for those who don’t wish to eat meat! Well, have I found the place for you. Located on E. Main next to the Slick Pig, the Around the Way Dog is opening on 22 Sep 09. They also have an assortment of sides to go with your “dog.” Stop on by and give them a try, “you might be dog gone glad you did!”
Update: 23 Sep 09:
I throughly enjoyed my meal tonight … a real, honest to goodness footlong hotdog, with chile, onions and shredded cheese. Wow, the bun was enormous and filled to the brim with my choice of toppings. These specially baked buns are almost a meal by themselves. The “dog” is larger and thicker than a lot of the “long, thin weiner” dogs found in most footlongs. The “fresh cut” fries were superb. Definitely a “will return often” type of place.
Note: They may be offering a 10% discount to MTSU in the near future.
Sal’s is located on Church Street, right by exit 81. They even have a website. I had the lunch buffet, which is daily from 11 AM to 2 PM. The pizza was amazing and though there wasn’t as much variety as CiCi’s, the quality makes up for that fact.
There were other items on the menu, like pasta and marinara sauce, salad and some kind of mushroom and bacon pasta that was fantastic. Oh and I have to mention the best item on the buffet, homemade banana pudding.
All in all it was a great meal. The only downside is that it is a little pricey. Two buffets and drinks where almost $20, luckily I had a coupon 50% off.
